Does NOT work on Steam Deck, BUT the alternate launcher "noshader.exe" DOES work. The regular version with shaders experiences a critical error immediately on launch.
I heard it runs using Proton on Linux (because Tamashii and Teocida are both a windows only game). I presume Steam Deck is based on Linux, but I unfortunately don't have a Steam Deck to test it with Proton.
Right click it and go to properties > compatibility, and enable the checkbox there (a dropdown will appear, the default value is good)
Go to the built in “discover” store and install “protontricks”
In protontricks select Tamashii
From this menu select “select the default wineprefix” then select “install a Windows DLL or component”
Install d3dcompiler_43
You should now be able to close protontricks and run the full shader version of the exe, even in gaming mode. If this doesn’t work try installing some other d3d components or if worst comes to worst, run the exe from the “D3DXCompile failed” folder, which works flawlessly as long as you also follow step 1 and 2 for it
Well designed game seems like the creator knows about occult stuff. A lot of different levels with many well designed obstacles . Still waiting on the 2nd release
I'm super excited to play this but... for some reason it can't detect my controller no matter what I do! I've rebooted my computer dozens of times, plugged it in and unplugged it, nothing seems to work. Every other game seems to support it without issues.
Has anyone else managed to fix this issue (or even encountered it)?
Hello. Sorry for the late reply, I don't know if this is the case, but the game should work fine with Ximput controllers, maybe your controller uses directinput? (Unfortunately the engine may have limitations with direct input. but It may work with Gamepad softwares like JoytoKey).
For anyone else who runs in to this issue, I figured it out: apparently if I add the .exe to Steam as a "non-Steam game" and open it with Steam then it detects the controller. Go figure.
This game is a abolutely blast. I was hooked by the gameplay and also the mysterious story from the first minute. Not convinced yet, here is a look at the gameplay:

I bought this through the racial equality bundle about a year ago, but I didn't know you put your games on Steam until I was recently messaged about your recent game or that an Itch purchase comes with a Steam key. My download page does not have one, however. Is there any way we can set one up? Thanks!

Am I able to get achievements? I never got notifications, though I didn't download it off the itch launcher (at the time, I didn't know a launcher existed)
Thanks Nightscale. Tamashii doesn't feature in-game achievements. Achievements are only available on Steam and consoles (each using their own achievement system).
Also the room that says "kv doha aovb dpsa zohss il aol dovsl vm aol shd svcl pz aol shd, svcl bukly dpss" is a simple cypher that translates to "Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law. Love is the law, love under will" which is taken from the book "Liber AL vel Legis" or "The Book of the Law" by Aleister Crowley. Hopefully you all enjoy this tidbit of lore, I sure enjoyed finding it!
Hi. Thanks for getting the game. Sadly this was an error I wasn't able to solve for every machine/configuration.
Some solutions were:
1° Sometimes it fails to open if the game window is not active during the initial loading (like opening the game and clicking other windows when it's loading can break the game)
2º It also can be the Direct X (if you Direct X was not updated yet)
3º But If the problem persists you can try to execute the game with NOSHADER.exe inside 'D3DXCompile failed' folder (version 1.6 and 1.7).

played the ps4 version of it and loved it! i tried finding all the secret rooms without a guide but seems i missed 2 for my playthrough.

What is the fonts of the game? (the one with line and dot and the one looks like an ancient symbols)
I figured out how to make it work on steam deck
(Do all of this from desktop mode)
