this is disturbing, i would've liked to know there were jumpscares. The ambience on it's own is fantastic, i can handle that kinda horror, but being completely and utterly unprepared for being jumped WILL suck. Other than that fantastic so far platformer, will play again when my heart recovers.
I have a ps4 controller that works with my computer. But it doesn't seem to be working with the game. Is there a fix or is it play not possible to make it work?
Heads up that shortly after completeing the first chamber this is a (frankly rather obnoxious) screamer/jumpscare, and a second one shortly after that. Other than that this was a very interesting game with a gorgeous aesthetic and a lot of depth.
I think this is a bug but in the platforming gauntlet at the bottom of the hub world (the one that has a message saying it's impossible), I always clip out of bound after a few tries. The only fix is quitting the game, but after restarting and retrying a few times, the bug happens again. I added an image of this below. I just clip out every time I try to drop down from the platform on the left

I really love this game!! I got it from the racial justice bundle, but didnt get around to playing it till now- it really creeps me out, but like.... in a good way? it reminds me a bit of OFF too, but with more religiousy themes.
also!! i really appreciate the options to toggle the flickery screen effects and such on and off- I'm autistic and have a bunch of sensory issues, so that was really helpful for me. thanks <3
Played through the first 2 chambers tonight. Lovely game, but I'm thankful for the option to turn down the effects because they were a bit much. Anyway, hoping the last three chambers continue to deliver on the good gameplay. Feels responsive and just challenging enough that I want to keep playing even when I'm frustrated.
Hi. You mean Story progress? After finishing the first level you need to return to Patriarch's room and talk to him (Hub world), after that the path to other levels will be open.

also i keep clipping in the wall in that room on the 5th part of the story. I wanted to go left so i did and i have to get through a little platforming challenge but when i drop to go through the 3 shooters falling onto the spike detectors, it clips me in the wall. That keeps me from progressing. I have to restart the game everytime it happens if i want to get past that point. But then i get about 2 tries per time i launch the game.
Oh, sorry for the confusion. it's actually working as intended :). After clipping through the wall you need to keep pressing to move until you get out of bounds of the level.
My friend pointed me towards this game because they said it was apparently 'my style'. I instantly fell in love with this game's atmosphere and aesthetic, the platforming puzzles were super enjoyable and challenging, and i really liked searching for secrets. This game is great, i'd love to see more things with this style, i look forward to other things you make!

So, in my second playthrough I found my way to the red star. And got the youtube link messague. But with the font used it is hard to see some of the letters in the link. Now I dont know if I just suck at reading, the link is down, or if it was never intended to work. I would appreciate some help.
I cannot for the life of me find any information online as to how you got there. Even a hint would be nice, I've been running around looking for fake walls for so long I found the message about game preservation that I don't hear anyone talking about. Hi! I think that the reason why there isnt any info about getting to the red star is because people thought the only way to get there was with a bug. People that were locked in the 'Flesh Hub sequence' wandered around and found the way. Since been locked was fixed in the 1.5 update, I think that people assumed that path wasnt meant to work.
I only found it cause I was running around like crazy during the jumpscare. There is enough time in the sequence to get there plus some wiggle room. So, apart from look around during the jumpscare, my more helpful hint would be to look around the jumpscare just after completing the Atziluth chamber. Earlier jumpscares dont leave you enough time.
In exchange, I would appreciate some hints for the game preservation message that you found.
I might do another full run, since I think some of the statues near the end game were 'talking', but that might just be me been crazy.
Go down the area where you have to leave a clone behind to progress. The roof area directly to the right of the hole has a false ceiling in a part, I saw it because the area was slightly more grey.
Alright this game is fantastic, as far as platformers go the clone mechanic made this one extremely unique and challenging. Absolutely loved every bit of horror you threw in, this game is honestly a masterpiece for horror and platform fans

Quite the unique experience. The puzzles and atmosphere were well done. Wish it was a bit longer though because the puzzles were so fun to solve and the story was intriguing! The pixel art blew me away as well ^^!
I'm really in love with this whole concept. It was a really great game, even though I was really confused about the story while I played it. The puzzles are godlike, and the art is so good I can't even word it.

Hi. I'm sorry that you're facing this issue. It seems like an incompatibility with the shader (or video resolution). Did you try updating the DirectX? There is some rare issue that happens on some computers and updating the DirectX fixed the problem on most of them (DirectX11 is recommended).
I updated the game with an aditional .exe inside 'D3DXCompile failed' folder (need to download the game again). If the problem persists you can try to execute the game with this new exe file. Sadly some special effects like image distortion will be disabled. This exe still a bit experimental but should work. If you find further problems feel free to report then back to me ;)
Hey! Is there anything that accelerates my clones' detonation other than me pressing Y? I'm near the beginning, at the second puzzle that requires clones to open portails and they detonate SO FAST I don't have the time to complete the puzzle. When I watch people playing on YouTube, they seem to have a lot more time than me before their clones detonate. Is there a bug, or something I'm not seeing?
Hi. That's odd. Every room should have a variable that defines the clone detonation time for that room. Also, some rooms have a more limited timer, and some puzzles works more like a speed challenge. If this was a glitch (It's also possible) maybe a room was left without that variable (and this made the game loads the last visited room value), you can try returning to 'level select hub'. There is a portal that makes you continue playing the last visited room (next to the Patriarch portal that transports players to that pyramid man). If this is a variable problem this should reset the timer to it's original value.
Also, there is an alternative to slow time on options, this enables the reset button to work as an on/off slow-motion (reset still working when the button is held).
I'm going to check the game again and look for left values, and thanks for playing :D

I'm impressed. Creepy game, clever puzzles, smart retro atmoshpere, it feels like an artifact from another timeline where this became a cult hit and kept being imported from game system to game system.
So far I like how each boss is a completey different puzzle - it really adds to the feel of the game. I never know what's coming next.
A bit early to review but my thoughts so far: The game is pretty damn good! Creepy, atmospheric, dark, abstract, evil. Story is interesting so far. Beat the first boss, it was fun! Visually the game is interesting. The glitch effects + chromatic aberration adds to it a lot! Sprites are detailed, backgrounds are fantastic!
Music is pretty good in overall, but I have one complaint what ruins the immersion for me a bit: when you die, the music restarts. Since there is no death screen, you restart immediately, it would be much, much better to keep the music playing, not restarting. It's easy to die again and again so the constant music resets kinda ruins it.
It's clear there was a lot of work in this game! Other than the music issue, it can be really immersing. It has some OFF / Yume Nikki vibes sometimes, it's a dark version of Super Meat Boy somewhat (probably reminds me of it because of the quick dead, retry mechanism... idk)... Controls are perfect! The puzzles are really well done. The escalation is great! It starts easy, it makes the player understand the mechanics in a safer environment, then it gets more complicated, harder, more complex. Interesting combination of darkness, horror, abstract, platforming and puzzles. Wasn't sure it'll work together when I started playing. But it definitely does! I'm enjoying this a lot and I'm happy with the purchase! Not flawless, minor improvements could help.
So my criticism is: restarting music and maybe the clones should have a visible timer on themselves too along with the HUD. Of course, in a stylish way.
Really enjoying this game....but man, the Left Hand Path room for...I can't remember the name...but it's the level with the female tongues and clone sliding "stations". I cannot figure this one out, and it's driving me absolutely nuts. XD
I feel like there is another clone sliding station missing in the room. Like there was supposed to be one after all the saw blades or something? It doesn't seem possible. Maybe I'm just not seeing it, but in order to progress, you have to trip the white and orange symbols to progress through the saw hallway due to the motion laser. Not sure if this is a bug, or what. It's impossible to use timing or delay of the door gates holding the clone in place to get both to hit both switches simultaneously...because underneath the white switch is an orange platform that drops it if you attempt that strategy. I've found all the other left hand path rooms so far to be challenging, but ultimately solved them. I'm really stuck.

They damn well should. The game is impressive - I can't put it down!
I'm impressed. Creepy game, clever puzzles, smart retro atmoshpere, it feels like an artifact from another timeline where this became a cult hit and kept being imported from game system to game system.
So far I like how each boss is a completey different puzzle - it really adds to the feel of the game. I never know what's coming next.
A bit early to review but my thoughts so far:
The game is pretty damn good! Creepy, atmospheric, dark, abstract, evil.
Story is interesting so far. Beat the first boss, it was fun!
Visually the game is interesting. The glitch effects + chromatic aberration adds to it a lot! Sprites are detailed, backgrounds are fantastic!
Music is pretty good in overall, but I have one complaint what ruins the immersion for me a bit: when you die, the music restarts. Since there is no death screen, you restart immediately, it would be much, much better to keep the music playing, not restarting. It's easy to die again and again so the constant music resets kinda ruins it.
It's clear there was a lot of work in this game! Other than the music issue, it can be really immersing. It has some OFF / Yume Nikki vibes sometimes, it's a dark version of Super Meat Boy somewhat (probably reminds me of it because of the quick dead, retry mechanism... idk)...
Controls are perfect! The puzzles are really well done. The escalation is great! It starts easy, it makes the player understand the mechanics in a safer environment, then it gets more complicated, harder, more complex. Interesting combination of darkness, horror, abstract, platforming and puzzles. Wasn't sure it'll work together when I started playing. But it definitely does! I'm enjoying this a lot and I'm happy with the purchase! Not flawless, minor improvements could help.
So my criticism is: restarting music and maybe the clones should have a visible timer on themselves too along with the HUD. Of course, in a stylish way.

Really enjoying this game....but man, the Left Hand Path room for...I can't remember the name...but it's the level with the female tongues and clone sliding "stations". I cannot figure this one out, and it's driving me absolutely nuts. XD
I feel like there is another clone sliding station missing in the room. Like there was supposed to be one after all the saw blades or something? It doesn't seem possible. Maybe I'm just not seeing it, but in order to progress, you have to trip the white and orange symbols to progress through the saw hallway due to the motion laser. Not sure if this is a bug, or what. It's impossible to use timing or delay of the door gates holding the clone in place to get both to hit both switches simultaneously...because underneath the white switch is an orange platform that drops it if you attempt that strategy. I've found all the other left hand path rooms so far to be challenging, but ultimately solved them. I'm really stuck.NEVERMIND IM AN IDIOT. AWESOME PUZZLE.nope....my idea was wrong...still stuck.
